Good idea to have this thread. I thought the frogs was very funny. It took me a while to work out that you could turn on subtitles. But all you experts here will have no such problem.
Last night I saw UCL’s take on Menander’s Dyskolos in English. They had clearly had a lot of problems with getting it on stage with various last minute venue changes. In the circumstances it was a brave attempt which showed just how difficult it is to put comedy on whether Ancient or Modern. Beforehand Professor Gesine Manuwald gave an interesting introduction to the links between Latin Republican comedy and Greek new comedy.
I am going to see Alceste the King’s play on Friday.
