good blog site for Latin study

Hi.

Could someone recommend me a blog site that is for me?

There I want to post my translations and word lists (the meanings of the word I looked up in the dictionary, mainly Lewis & Short, with a lot of translations of example sentences, which makes a huge vocabulary list) and sometimes tips from Gildersleeve I used in translation.

The authors of the books are Tertullianus and Augustinus. I am interested in philosophical works, so I can try Cicero and others too.

But the pace of my work is very slow, so I keep engaged in the same work very long. Because, I am now with a really autistic symptom, a tendency to consult dictionary too much, very scrupulously reading a lot of examples, writing down or inputting everything I looked up.

But I suppose my elaborate vocabulary list and translation (I am very good at translation) would help a lot to some Latin students.

I’m sorry, I 'm not sure I understand. Are you asking where you can get a blog?

Tumblr is free, and easy to use.

Blogger is a Google service, that I never personally used. free

Wordpress is also great, if you want to host something yourself.

Hi.

I mean I want to use such a blog site as many students of Latin might see my blog there (it will be such a blog as described above).

I think any standard blogging website should be well suited for your needs, if you are just looking to post relevant information from your studies. I can’t think of a blog that would be more or less suited to writing about Latin.

I’ve previously used blogger.com and wordpress.com for occasional blogging.

The information and study notes you described sound interesting. You can help others discover your information by linking to your posts during relevant discussions here and on other Latin forums. If you do a lot of work with a certain author or topic, like medieval scholastics, your blog should be of immediate interest to anyone else studying those topics.

Thank you, thesaurus.

What I am doing is like this. If you like, please try looking over it.

Tertullianus
De Aniuma Ch.27 Sec.4

Title : Like our mean flesh, our holy soul, too, generates at the moment of sexual intercourse, and you should not be ashamed of this fact

[4] Immo si tempora seminum diuidentur, et materiae diuersae habebuntur ex distantia temporam. +++++ In addition, if the moment of sowing the seed of flesh and the moment of sowing the seed of soul are divided, then by the distance of those moments, there will be different oopotunity of birth for each (flesh and soul). (But such an inference is not allowed.) +++++ Nam etsi duas species confitebimur seminis, corporalem et animalem, indiscretas tamen uindicamus et hoc modo contemporales eiusdemque momenti. +++++++ For, even if we concede that there are two kinds of seed, one for the flesh, one for the soul, nevertheless we declare that they are undivided (or, indivisible) and so are in a synchronized (synchronous) existence. ++++++++ Ne itaque pudeat necessariae interpretationis. ++++++ So don’t feel ashamed to make an inevitable conclusion. +++++++ Natura ueneranda est, non erubescenda. ++++++ Nature is to be revered, not to be ashamed of. +++++++ Concubitum libido, non condicio foedauit. ++++++ What defiles the sexual intercouse is the lust, not the wedding. (* So you don’t have to feel ashamed of the fact that our holy soul, like our mean flesh, generates at the moment of sexual intercourse.) ++++++ Excessus, non status est impudicus, siquidem benedictus status apud deum: crescite et in multitudinem proficite, excessus uero maledictus, adulteria et stupra et lupanaria. +++++++ What is lewd is to lose self-control in sexual intercourse, not the wedding. The wedding is blessed before God : Be Born, And Grow Into A Great Number. But on the other hand, to lose self-cntrol in sexual intercourse is cursed as an adultery, shameful lewdness, and whoredom.

Very interesting and thorough work! I admire your endurance.

If you were to post this on a blog somewhere, I’d advise experimenting with the formatting to make it as reader-friendly as possible. Maybe you could split the reading up line by line and accompany it with the apparatus you’ve created.

If you have the time or inclination, you could consider putting your finished products into PDF format. They would then form a kind of annotated reading edition of your texts.

Where are you drawing your source text from? I noticed that you faithfully record and then compensate for a typo (ā€œtemporamā€).

Thank you for complimenting. I have wanted it from someone.

Oh, the idea of PDF file is good. My vocabulary list is too large, and I didn’t know if a long long series of such work is posssible on a borrowed website (=blog) or on paper (I sometimes think about publishing my vocabulary list plus translation in a far remote future).
