Gerundive with a verb that takes the dative "operam do" "studeo"

I am working on Familia Romana XXXI, so I’m grappling with the Gerundive
I like to practice some reali-life sentences like “I should/must study Latin”

(mihi) Lingua Latina discenda est. Lingua Latina is the passive subject in the nominative.
or Mihi fenestra aperienda est.

But how does this work with a verb that takes the dative? “operam do” “studeo”
(Mihi) Linguae Latinae operam dandae est. maybe (a me)
(Mihi) Linguae Latinae studendae est. maybe (a me)
1 Should the “subject” (Lingua Latina) be in the nominative or the dative?
2 Does the verb agree with it’s dative object?
3 What case should “operam” be?
4 Does the agent switch to the ablative?
5 Is there a preferred position for the agent? (Putting it first is easy for an English speaker)

Here are two example sentences that might answer at least some of your questions:

Seneca ep. 14,14: Sed postea videbimus an sapienti opera rei publicae danda sit.

Cicero inv. 1,4: Meo quidem animo nihilo minus eloquentiae studendum est, etsi ea quidam et privatim et publice abutuntur.

Okay, so this is what it looks like to me.

1 Seneca ep. 14,14: Sed postea videbimus an sapienti opera rei publicae danda sit.
14. However, we shall consider later whether the wise man ought to give his attention to politics;
reī pūblicae dative politics. So danda is taking the dative.
sapienti dative of agent (not ablative of agent)
opera is nominative. Proabably because “danda sit” is future passive periphrastic, that would make “opera” “the subject” of the futur passive periphrastic “danda”.
Where as in the active it would be accuisative “operam do”.

2 Cicero inv. 1,4: Meo quidem animo nihilo minus eloquentiae studendum est, etsi ea quidam et privatim et publice abutuntur.
Wherefore, in my opinion at least, men ought not the less to devote themselves to eloquence although some men both in private and public affairs misuse
Eloquentiae is dative, so studendum is taking the dative

So
Nunc mihi linguae latinae studendum est. (now I should/ have to/ must study Latin)
Nunc mihi opera linguae latinae dandum est. (now I should/must study Latin/ pay attention to Latin)
follow these examples.

Thank you
