Germanic-Latin Transliteration and Translation

Does anyone know of a series of sound-shifts that commonly occur when transliterating a Germanic name to Latin? I’m thinking of Karl-Carolus Ludwig-Ludovicus, Heinrich-Henricius here. Also, are there any guidelines regarding the declension of the transliterated name in Latin? The examples here incidentally all are of the second declension, so I assume male names generally are?

Incidentally, can anyone tell me what Ælfwine is in Latin?
