Font for Learning Greek in Discourse

How can one get a good font displayed for Ancient Greek in the new Discourse setup? I’m finding it very hard to see the accents.

Which Greek font are you using? While you can get some that are especially for Greek, many ordinary fonts that are used for English will also work for Greek, such as Arial, Times New Roman, Helvetica, and others. You also need to have a Greek virtual keyboard to use.

Some other good ones are Doulos and Gentium, as well as SBL Greek. These are geared toward Greek, but also work for English.

I meant to say “polytonic keyboard”. That is, one that has the full range of Ancient Greek accents, breathings, etc.

I’m reading textkit in the chrome browser.
I have the font set to Gentium +.

I have a system ancient Greek keyboard: Keyman.

The characters in textkit look OK, but the accents are too tiny for me to make them out. Are you seeing the accents clearly?

I’ve made several themes available. You can select them on the interfaces page.

Click on your user profile (the “H” in a circle) on the top right → the little person icon → Preferences → Interface, and choose a new theme. I recommend Avid Reader or Horizon for Greek fonts.

The link for your user is: https://www.textkit.com/u/hlawson38/preferences/interface

Another option that you will be able to select there is default text size.

Many thanks Joel. I chose the Avid Reader theme, and the accents are much more intelligible.
