flash cards

hi again
I am working my way through LL vol 1 and hope to concentrate on vol 2 soon. Is there any easy way of picking up the vocab fairly quickly. (ie like the flash cards in vol 1). Idealy i would rather switch to church latin authors as my goal is priesthood. But since they use the LL series (esp vol1) in the seminary i dont think i am going too far astray by beginning vol 2. Does anybody know of any groups working on church latin or would anyone be interested in joining such a group.?
Thanks

Hi! I’m also entering the clergy, and am picking up Latin as a side hobby- I’m only in Cap. IX of LL though. Should you find a group like that, I’d love to join when I get to that ability level.

Perhaps you could try and se if there’s any group consentrating on the Vulgata? I.m.o. that would be a very good place to start if one’s main goal with Latin is religious. Good thing about the Vulgata is that it is written to be easily understood close to how people spoke rather than Cicero’s overly elloquent speeches or Virgil’s poems full of archaisms.

Regardin words, I’m very sure that there be frequency lists for the Bible. There are for Hewbrew and for Koinê listing every word used in the Bible base dupon frequency. Ah, 30 minutes of Googeling and voila: http://www.dtc.umn.edu/~reedsj/vfreq.txt
