Family Tree Help

Alright, so I have this project for my Latin class to make a family tree, although simple enough. I’m having a problem. I need to show my brother is married and have two kids.. not a BIG deal, but I am asked to show the relation between me and the people on my tree. I have a list of words for family members.. but i dont have one for sister-in-law… i was thinking maybe i could say Meus Fratris uxor [My brother’s Wife]… but im not too sure.. can someone help me out?

Hi Brent2009. Apart from the lack of agreement in “Meus fratris”, you’re right. Google “sister-in-law Latin”. The first result explains:
“-‘mariti soror’ / ‘uxoris soror’ / ‘fratris uxor ‘ (sister-in-law).
In late Latin there are also other nouns for brother-in-law (levir) and sister-in-law ( glos /fratrissa).
As for brother-in-law / sister-in-law, note that ‘mariti frater’ means literally ‘brother of the husband’, “uxoris frater? means “brother of the wife?, etc.”

You don’t even need to include the “mei” in “fratris mei” (note the agreement) if it’s obvious from the context that it couldn’t be anyone else’s brother, but it’s safer to include it.

Thanks so much
[and thanks for catching that, I did type this up in a hurry, i wasent giving much attention to grammatical concepts, anyway your help is much appreciated.]
