Does anyone know where I could find a reasonably inexpensive edition of Erasmus’s colloquia? I have been looking and either question the quality of the editions or gawk at the prices. am thinking $35 per volume at the most. Thanks.
I cannot recommend a print edition, but are you aware you can access the “Amsterdam edition” of the Opera omnia, which is an excellent scholarly edition, online for free? The colloquia are contained in the Ordinis primi tomus tertius, which you can download here (legally!):
Again, no print edition but you can find all Erasmus’ colloquia here, as well as those of many other authors of the same period (Corderius is particularly useful, if less interesting from a literary perspective, at a lower level).
