DaVinci...the Movie

Well…have any of you seen it yet??

I saw it this afternoon with my wife. I thought it was pretty good, but it was a little slow moving at times. It was a pretty faithful adaptation to the book though. My wife liked it, except for the part where she nodded off (it was so warm and cozy in the theatre) and snored one very loud snort! It was quite funny!! I nudged here and said, “wake up honey, you’re snoring.” and she said, “I know, that’s what just woke me up!”

Anyhow…I just wanted to get your reactions to the film. I thought it was entertaining, but of course complete and total fiction. As long as you watch it with that in view, it is quite good.

What I’m really excited for is X-Men 3…I think I might even go to a midnight showing!

I saw it yesterday - can’t say whether it was faithful to the book as I haven’t read it. It seemed like other Dan Brown stories (and much the same plot!) I liked all the Church Latin, but thought it was a bit far fetched that the “clues” were all in perfectly ordinary English. The scene in the cellar full of old documents got me - “these must be 1000’s of years old” - yeah, right, and after being stored in a damp old cellar they are all in pristine condition?
Apart from that it was a perfectly ordinary thriller with a confusing plot, and I don’t think mainstream Christianity has much to fear. No Academy awards here - the acting was a bit wooden, maybe they were trying not to laugh.

I agree that X Men sounds much better!

My husband sighs every time we go to a movie involving Greek, Latin or ancient history as I pick holes in everything - he knows he will hear about every mistake, incorrect translation or whatever on the way home.

I thought it was alright. my mom liked it. I dug the latin too, it rocked. I liked the pronounciation. eh. C+/B-.
