Hi,
I’m helping a friend translate the phrase “dark rose” (dark meaning both dark in color, and dark in mood). That’s how he wants to name a painting he made.
So far we found that the words needed are “Rosa” and “Obscurus”, but we are not quite sure how to put them together. We know nothing of Latin Grammar.
Can anyone help us?

but if I’m wrong others here will correct me anyway 
, so here goes:
Tenebrosa Rosa [Dark/Gloomy Rose]
Obscura Rosa if those are particularly the words you want to use, but I think that would convey the meaning of hidden(in the dark) rose rather than dark/gloomy directly but I may be wrong.
In case you want more emphasis on the rose part of it, ie. dark rose then probably you should invert the word order to : Rosa Tenebrosa.

Plus, the noun normally comes first.
A word which has the connotations you are possibly looking for here is “ater” (=black or dark/gloomy/sad/dismal or malicious/poisonous)
“Dark rose” is then: “Rosa atra”
