browser wars

Spoken like a true web developer! yeah, server side is the way to go - it’s SO much better because it helps remove browser issues.

well, there’s your problem. Stop using IE.

Arrr… don’t you have a tattoo to be playing with? :smiling_imp:

lol the problem is that i am not allowed to play with it… not supposed to touch it at all while it’s healing, except to put moisturizer on it… which is driving me crazy because it has been itching for 5 days now and i so badly want to scratch… anyway, that’s off topic (but at the forefront of my mind… ).

Neato, Jeff!! And they’re right-you can’t use enter with IE. (I had to try it for myself. )

I see what you mean - BUT - you have to take the focus off the email field by hitting tab. I’ll look around for some javascript for this so that hitting enter will submit the form.

Mozillla 1.5 for w2k: typing in email address and then pressing enter gets me in.

IE6 SP1 for w2k: typing in email address then pressing enter gives me nil, however pressing enter AGAIN will get me in.

Well that’s your problem! Use Mozilla instead! It’s MUCH better than IE.

hear, hear!

Errrrm… I think Jeff is trying to make a board that everybody can use and enjoy, not just anti-MS zealots.

You really need to give Mozilla a try, it’s much much better (www.mozilla.org). I like being able to suppress popups, and opening new windows in “tabs” is much better than opening new windows. You’ll get used to the new keystrokes pretty fast.

IE has some real annoying “features”, but I guess most people just got used to them.

 Well said.

Hey Jeff. I recently made a javascript function and it seems to work in IE, Netscape 6 and Opera (v. 7 I think it is).
I don’t know if its what you’re looking for though:

Thanks solitario, I’ll take a look at that. This morning I added in some very similar.

jeff

Yes.. we like the site to work for ‘almost’ all browsers. I say almost all because c’mon - if you’re still using Netscape 4.7 - it’s time to update.

I use IE, Mozilla, and Opera. I like all three in different ways.

have you not heard of netscape 7.0?
i never tried mozilla, but i like netscape better then ie.
tabs are indeed much better then new windows.

Of course - but I don’t like the AOL plugins, so I personally avoid it.
