BBC Radio 4 Program about Virgil and the Aeneiad

I found a radio program from BBC Radio 4 about Virgil and the Aeneiad. I don’t know if the link is still good but it is:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/history/inourtime/mp3/inourtime18.mp3

It is an mp3 file (11 megs) about 45 minutes long.
It is an interesting listen!
If the link doesn’t work, they only post it for listening for a limited time, I have the file on my computer and it can be sent to people via Dropload.
If anyone wants it, please let me know.

Ah, “In Our Time.” I’ve been listening to this for about two months now. Even if the mp3 goes away, it appears they keep RealAudio files around for a while. Just look through the archive to find what you want. There’s an Odyssey show under “History.”

Excellent suggestions Annis and Dean!!!

I was thrilled to listen to them. It also helps me with my English pronunciation and listening skills. It is quite informative and well researched. Thanks a lot!!!

I listened to the first fifteen minutes before being interrupted: it seemed interesting but I’m not sure if I would’ve listened to it all. I mean, much of what I heard pertained to whether or not Vergil was paid to write poetry freely or work Augustan propaganda into it–a topic which anyone who’s studied more than one book of the Aeneid already knows is mere speculation.

Perhaps when I have some more free time and a higher tolerance of intense British accents…
