Asking permission?

Χαίρετε!

Since I am being introduced to the optative, I am wondering if Greek writers use the optative of ἐάω or ἐπτιτρέπω to ask permission or sometimes ἔξεστι plus an infinitive? Does aorist v. present tense come into play if I ask to do something once or periodically? For example, “May I go to the Agora (once)? v. May I go to the Agora once a week?

ἔξεστι is much the likeliest, e.g. ἆρ᾽ ἔξεστί μοι εἰσελθεῖν; May I go in?
ἆρ᾽ ἔξεστί μοι νῦν ἀπιέναι; May I leave now?
May I take these? ἆρ᾽ ἔξεστί μοι ταῦτα λαβεῖν;
May I kiss you? ἆρ᾽ ἔξεστί μοι φίλημά σοι δοῦναι;

Or with present infin.:
May I have this (and keep it)? ἆρ᾽ ἔξεστί μοι τοῦτ᾽ ἔχειν;
May I take this and keep it? ἆρ᾽ ἔξεστί μοι λαβόντι τοῦτ’ ἔχειν;
May I take this and keep it safe? ἆρ᾽ ἔξεστί μοι λαβόντι τοῦτο σώζειν;
