Adjectives agree with their nouns...

…in gender, number and case. So says White’s Rules of Syntax 805. But the example he gives:

ἡ ὁδὸς στενὴ ῆ/ν

Does this mean that although στενὴ is A-Declension it is masuline.. but why not use στενος?

PS How do I use unicode?

Even though o(dos is a second declension noun, it is grammatically feminine, as indicated by the article, h(.

PS How do I use unicode?

What operating system do you use?

Sorry. Just realised how stupid I am. Of course, the word ROAD is feminine. What a dummy I am!

Anyway, I have XP

You are not dumb. This stuff is genuinely confusing.

To make matters worse, there are some adjectives which look masculine when they are really feminine. For example, ?ναίσ?μος.

Yep. Enough that we even have a FAQ entry for it.

No. But what annoyed me that if I had read the text properly, I would have realised that ?δός, οῦ, ἡ indicated that it was feminine. I was annoyed at myself. It’s a good thing, of course, because I’m setting myself high standards, and I’m glad other have noticed that it’s a difficulty.

Anyway. Cracked the unicode thing as well. Onto the First Aorist today…
