This is about Alyattes the Lydian King who made a large dedication to Delphi. I’ve made use of the first half but not the second half.
This is about Henrique of Malacca who who I take as been the first person to circumnavigate the globe (though he may well not of).
EDIT
On reflection this was perhaps not the best sentence to try. There is something odd about the way that at first sight H. seems to be saying that Alyattes dedicated a silver krater with a welded iron base but then he throws in δεύτερος οὗτος τῆς οἰκίης ταύτης that he was the second of his house to make a dedication of any sort. So ἀνέθηκε is at the same time both referring to a very specific dedication and to a more general act of making a dedication. To be honest I am unsure as to what is going on.
