A few translations needed

Hello all, I am wanting to get a few tattoos, and I have a latin theme going on for my body. I haven’t actually taken latin yet, but like a few phrase’s translated. The first one is my favorite proverb, “A Society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shades they shall never sit” which is a Greek proverb. The second is just mine I made up, “Strength to protecting that which man values”.

In case you wonder what I want to get tattooed with them, the first is the band A Perfect Circle symbol, with a seed growing in the center attaching itself to the symbol, all looking tribal. The second is a Griffin, which is going to be apart of my back piece(I have a phoenix on my back already). If you ever seen a heraldry shields or pieces that have two griffins with a shield design that is the look I am going for. Thanks for any help! - James

shouldn’t you be posting the first sentence in the Greek forum then?

well anyway, just for an initial idea:

  1. Societas augetur senibus patulas arbores inserentibus quarum sub tegmine nunquam recubabunt [meditantes silvestrem Musam tenuis avenis  ]

  2. Virtus ad servandum quod hominibus sit aestimatum.

wait for some better responses though, TR.
