Hi there;

Somebody could help[ me to understand a real meanings found it in a Oil in canvas (looks really, really old…) with a San Michael Archangel retreated scene with a rock inscribed:

9 ui mundi (or mund.i) in (XXX NLT, 3 unreadable letters first, ending in NLT) cuma itat (or cumitat) is habitat.

Actually i found a ton of meanings for each one of these “potential” words and also a kind of “auto translate” with meaning: "9 force is among the world might be (cuma itat)??? But still making any sense to me, b’cause this i’m looking for some professional or expertise about this. It’s a 300 years old (at least i think painting with a Saint Michael Archangel) posing with a justice weight and we have this inscribe inside a kind of silver plate on the left lower corner. (Images attached).

As you can see, after a old restore, all letters missings or almost invisible was filled by a brown color (not renew as original inscribe, unfortunately…)

PS: “cumitat” as i seen looks like something like C I T(??) M - one letter missing, E A R I S. I really don’t know.

Yes that’s it all right. It’s an accentual iambic hexameter. (“Who World despises, with the Blest has dwelling he.”)
