τὰς δ᾽ αὖ τῆς ψυχῆς καὶ τοῦ σώματος ἀνευρήσομεν λύπας ἡδοναῖς μειχθείσας τοτὲ μὲν ἡδονὰς τὰ συναμφότερα, τοτὲ δὲ λύπας ἐπικαλουμένας.
should it be taken as an adverb ‘both’?
I haven’t looked up the context, but it appears to stand as the subject of ἐπικαλουμένας, though that is declined to agree with τὰς λύπας καὶ τὰς ἡδονὰς which τὰ συναμφότερα is standing for. Under this interpretation it would be “the combination”.
