My name is Carl and I just turned 60. I’ve taught myself a fair amount of Latin grammar over the years, which I’ve used from time to time to read selections from Virgil, Ovid, Horace, and Catullus. (Actually, I’ve read all of Book 1 and about half of Book 2 of the Aeneid.)

I want to become a more consistent and a more fluent reader of Latin, and I’m hoping that being a part of this community will help me to continue working toward that goal.

Along with some grammar review, I’m currently trying to read some longer passages from Ovid’s Metamorphoses.

I also know Spanish and Russian fairly well. I taught middle and high school Spanish for 14 years.

My other hobbies include amateur astronomy and botany.
