Xen. Sym. 1.9

Hi all. I bring you a silly question, probably. It’s about last sentence of Xen.Sym.1.9, which says:

So, my silly question is:
Are there two groups as οἱ μέν…οἱ δὲ usually marks? (One that is more in silence and other which gesticulate, conceal, etc). Or the same group which is more quiet also gesticulate?

What made think that the subjetc could be the same for each verb was the second article is alone, something like: By one hand, the ones who more quiet were, for the other hand, also “gesticulating” somehow [concealing the impression of the Autilocus’s beauty produce to them).

According to Smyth, 1145 it possible to repeat the article, instead of the noun, but I’m not sure if this is the case: http://www.perseus.tufts.edu/hopper/text?doc=Perseus:text:1999.04.0007:part=4:chapter=40#chapter1145

οἱ μὲν. . . οἱ δὲ, as usual, indicates two groups: some grew quieter; others were gesticulating (if that’s what ἐσχηματίζοντο means here).

Thnak you!
