Would he/she like to learn the Portuguese?
It is a derived language of Latin, for that, if you already know some Latin won’t be difficult. I intend to teach gratuitously saw forum. It is a very beautiful language, and used at few countries, then, if you like languages little spoken is great for you. Are you interested?
Portuguese is a pretty language, but I’m going to say I’ll have to wait. I’m already planning on studying German this summer with my mom’s help and possibly Greek, one more language would be too much. Thanks though, I will look into it in the future. 
If wants to learn, am I willing, okay?
I’m not sure if this is what you meant, but portuguese IS quite widely spoken… according to this source, it is the 8th most widely spoken language in the world.

Só por causa do Brasil pois só no Brasil já tem 170 os outros 20 milhões são de outros 7 países juntos.
Não te esqueças também, LordDunke, dos milhões de falantes de português espalhados por esse mundo fora em países nos quais a língua lusa não é oficial ou maioritária. Sobretudo, não te esqueças de que uma língua não é feita de estatísticas, mas de vivências tão variadas como aqueles que as vivem e as expressam na lingua na qual nasceram ou para a qual nascem, a uma dada altura da vida.
O português deve estar acima de tão sufocantes restrições geográficas ou cronológicas - seja português do Brasil, de Portugal ou de onde quer que seja. E, na minha opinião, é sobretudo a literatura que dá coesão a uma identidade tão multifacetada, de um colorido variegado, que é a alma da língua portuguesa.
Concordo plenamete, mas a lingua portusa não tem tanta literatura se comparada a outras linguas.

«Se comparada»… Porém, talvez não seja sempre bom comparar? Cada cultura e cada literatura é única no seu gênero. Além disso, a literatura lusófona não me parece nada «pobre», mesmo se comparada às dos outros povos… É possível dizer que é menos «voluminosa»; más a qualidade nem sempre depende da quantidade, não é assim?
Concordo plenamente, e realmente a qualidade é o que mais importa, e é boa a qualidade, mas o volume é realmente menor.

When I was a young man in high school, we only had three modern languages to choose from: French, Spanish and German. But I wish we had had Portuguese. It really is a pretty language, and Brazil is a beautiful and fascinating place. I would love to learn Portuguese. I love the sound of that language.
If there are any young folks out there looking for an interesting modern language to learn, consider Portuguese. I wish I had.

Please don’t take this as an offence, Lord Dunke, but before teaching an english speaker some portuguese, you’ll have to improve your english and not just use automatic translators…
