Surely it’s elegiac distikhon. One cannot expect syllabae longae et breues to have been heeded there, and they duly aren’t.
His metrical problems are with the Greek words theologus and philosophia. Evidently he didn’t know Greek–I don’t think Greek began to be studied, at least not widely, in Northern Italy until the later part of the 14th century. Petrarch didn’t know Greek, either.
