ἀνέθεσαν What is it?

What is the last word at the end of 1.134 in Thucydides
ἀνέθεσαν
I can not figure out what this is or what form it is.

Thank you.

hi, have a look at the aor. paradigm of τίθημι here (no. 30):

add on the verb prefix ἀνα, and you have a common verb for “dedicate”. your e.g. is in the aor. plural but here’s a nice e.g. in the aor. sg (see start of line 2):

cheers, chad.

Very handy tables.

A good resource for this is the Perseus word study tool, although early on I found it can easily become a crutch. And the site lately can be very very slow.
