Time to be hassled...

Hi there, just thought i’d introduce myself before I hassled you with all my questions (and there will be lots  ).
I’m studying a science course at uni, so I’ll be learning latin independantly (read: slowly), but that’s cool.

edit: oh, and I’ll be learning out of Wheelock’s. Just got it a few days ago (after a 2 month wait, stupid backordering) and it looks pretty good. Plus there are those grote study guides that every singly latin page links to…

Anywho, cathcyas out there.
james

Welcome, James.

Which uni do you go to? … And which kind of science?

goddammit, that was quick.. only just finished editing my opening post…

Ah, I see your in good old melbourne too.
Studying a Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) at RMIT Bundoora. Pretty cool course.

And yourself? Studying or working?

james

Engineering (chemical) and science (physics) at Melbourne uni. It’s quite good.

Welcome to Textkit! Don’t forget to check out the Wheelock forum.

Mariek,
Cheers

Eureka,
So where does latin fit into that?? Have you just been learning independantly?

I guess i could pose that question to everyone. Who else is learning by themselves, and how do you find it??
Hmm, i’m sure there are a few threads about that, might go find them.

Nowhere.

Yes… Except Greek, not Latin.

Welcome James!

I don’t know about you guys but the bishôp rules that Eureka and James go out on a date! yay! But make sure ∫Eureka dx do not intersect any other curve, if you know what I be saying. Keep the sentiments classical! Indeed James might like a bit of Martial. Now I know that you are shy so you may both say that the bishop forced you should it not work out.

That’s why we’re here.

Welcome to Textkit.

I can wrap my mind around most concepts. The idea of Episcopus as a yenta, however, astonishes.

My dear annis! The date is not unwanted at all!

Perhaps you can start to learn latin now Eureka, using James’ squeaky clean wheelcock?

Episcopsus,

:open_mouth: that’s MY squeaky clean wheelcock, and seeing that the chances of a female studying chemical engineering and physics is highly unlikely, I think ill pass… (although, i guess a chick doing that combo would have to be the shy sexy type, but im still not risking it)

Annis,
I’ll hold you to that, thanks.

w00t!

Where to start in replying here…

First, a troublesome bishöp denies my masculinity, then he attempts to pimp me out. :imp:

I tell you! Wheelock holds no interest for me. The aspersions cast by an avatar-less priest are not to be believed. The ἱερεύς can not be trusted, he γᾰρ has sacrificed the truth, and now peddles his false reality.

ἁνδάνει οὐ σαῦρος τῷ επισκόπῳ, οὐδ’ ἐᾷ ἄλλους
ἥδεσθαι σαύροις, πλὴν ὅταν ἐννοέῃ

Edit: Oy. Accenting

saywhat?

I donno, I think he’s talking about lizzards or something. :stuck_out_tongue:

William, are you actually talking about lizzards? 'Cause if not, then I have no idea what you’re saying; and if you are, then I’m still not sure what you’re getting at. :open_mouth:

You are all breaking the rules, you have to include me… May i suggest a fight to the death?

The winner shall receive my unconditional love… now fight, fight for my love! :stuck_out_tongue:

Eek. So I have. Sometimes I am overcome by the urge to produce verse in Greek. The Episcopal match-making was too rich a target for me to pass up. I’m sorry.

May i suggest a fight to the death?

Do we get the music from the original Star Trek when Kirk and Spock had to duke it out?
