I’ve see the rhyme
This is the book of Liddell and Scott
Some of it is good and some of it not
That which is good is Scott
That which is Liddell is not
Is there a basis for this rhyme, aside from the fact that Scott rhymes with not?

Funny, Deses posted the same rhyme just 2 days ago.
This seems to be the epitome of that ancient poetic device mimesis or imitatio. Rather than duplicating posts in English it would be rather more fun to render the sentiment into Greek verse. Any metrical scheme is welcome, but I suppose an elegiac couplet with an invective tone would be best.
As a concurrent exercise for those who doubt their versifying skills, please translate it into plain and simple prose (the last two adjectives are meant as advice!).
Bear in mind that you will be wasting your valuable time by trying to ape the jingly jangly rhyme structure of the English - don’t.
So, pick your words carefully from that curate’s egg that is LSJ,
