The Latin word for "kept"?

I’m having trouble finding the translation for the word “kept”, as in “They kept sending…”. I know the word for it does not directly mean keep, but I also know there is a word that can be used for it, unfortunately I cannot think of it.

That’s because Latin doesn’t have a separate word for ‘kept’ in the sense you’re looking for. You have to translate it as an imperfect, with the root -ba- at the end. Thus ‘they kept sending’ is ‘mittebant,’ or if you prefer, ‘semper mittebant.’

duhh, me dumb. Well… that’s what I get for doing my work at such a late hour.
