Hi everyone,
I am a Latin teacher who fell down a rabbit hole into the world of the Romans. I took Latin in junior high and Italian in college. When I became a teacher and my school needed a Magistra, I was called on to fill the position. (My administrator said, “Latin, Italian… they’re basically the same thing. You’ll be fine!”) I have survived, but have always wanted more training. I was never able to find an evening or summer Latin class in my area, however, so it has been a long wait.
Now, 10 years later, I am finally continuing my Latin education with a distance learning college course. I did not expect to fall in love with Latin, but it is my favorite class to teach and I am really enjoying the college class despite the fact that I am struggling to catch up. (It is a second semester class and I am not quite up to speed with all of the first semester material.)
When looking for supplemental material to help me understand and practice Latin participles, I ran across Textkit. This site looks awesome and I am excited to be included. As I found 4 years ago when I attended the ACL summer institute, classics people are wonderfully helpful and welcoming. I am glad to have found another group to join.
