"septimana vergente"

Salvete!

I’ve encountered this phrase (for the second time) “septimana vergente.”

WORDS says “vergo, vergere” – to incline, slope, lie

“septimanus” means–of the seventh

It looks to be in the ablative with “vergente” as a present participle.

So, does it mean “with the seventh sloping?”

I don’t get this one.

“septimanâ vergente” = “at the end of the week” / “at the week-end” / “the week declining”

Salve Adriane!

Gratias tibi ago. Id iam intellego.

Vale!
