Self-Introduction

Hello,

My name is Daniel and I live in Tokyo Japan (am from Canada originally).
I started learning Ancient Greek since last year, wanting to learn the original languages of the Bible, which is my main goal.
I have been learning by myself since then and have been slowly working through the New Testament.

Recently, I wanted to expand more and to learn the “language background” for Koine Greek, so started moving backwards as well, to try and learn Attic style Greek as well, so have begun working through the Athenaze and “Reading Greek” books. So, far they have been fun and have helped getting me to read more Greek.

I look forward to exchanging ideas and getting help on how to learn better in Greek and share about the learning journey, which I find to be very exciting.

Thank you,

Daniel

Welcome to Textkit, Daniel!

Hi Daniel,

Another new Canadian member here (just joined today!). I also started learning Ancient Greek a year ago, using Reading Greek (JACT), currently in Section 10.

Attic Greek is my main interest, but I am reading Koine Greek through “Keep Up Your Biblical Greek In Two Minutes A Day: Vol. 1”, reading and parsing one verse a day.

In addition, I’m in a weekly online group reading and translating Euripides’ Medea, which is advanced for me but helps me learn a lot. I believe in exposing myself to original texts, i.e. readings outside textbook, as much as possible.
