I am a Latin teacher and tutor who works with students in grades 7 through 12. Most of my work is online; my students attend different schools that teach using a variety of methods and curricular materials.
I studied Latin in high school and renewed my study of the language to help my own children when they took Latin. As a private school teacher of English I was “drafted” to help students complete Latin studies while they attended a winter program at my school (which did not offer Latin instruction). I then began studying Latin and Latin teaching methods on my own. Since retiring from formal teaching, I have tutored students at all levels – from “previewing” Latin through AP Latin. Because of my unorthodox background, I continue to research and try out resources to help me evolve as a tutor.
