Salvete!

Hello! I took Latin for 2 years about 30 years ago. I have fond memories of passing notes with my friends written in Latin, and attending Latin mass and actually understanding the priest. But I hadn’t used it much after that. It did get me started on other languages, and eventually majoring in foreign languages and anthropology in university, but eventually I decided i wanted to revisit it. I’ve bought some books and have been watching some YouTube videos. Eventually I would like to make some videos on ancient Roman culture, maybe with some language thrown in. Making clothing, discussing art, making scrolls. I’m going to order some papyrus and make a scroll.

My old teacher in 6th and 7th grade had use make bullae out of squares of wood with a hole in them that we’d put a string through and wear to class around our necks. He gave us each a Latin name, mine was Amata. We made togas at some point as well. The class was great fun and I think it improved my overall vocabulary and made me more curious about the world in general, and got me into learning about history as well.
