Salvete!

I am a Chinese college student current majoring in English language and literature. I have been learning Latin for quite a while now, but not systematically, and it was not until recently when I came across a standardized test held by Beijing University that I finally decided to pick back up my Wheelock.

I have always loved linguistics since high school. So I first met the Latin language from there: I wanted to have a deeper understanding of vocabulary and its etymology. But then I found a whole other different world.

Because I use Wheelock, I took a more traditional approach. I am now almost half way through this textbook, and I am able to read a bit of the original text using dictionaries. I still have a lot to learn and that is why I am here now.

I am preparing for the test, yes, but now that I have regained interest in Latin, I would probably keep reading more original Latin texts anyway. It is a LOT of fun.

The test comes in a month. Wish me luck!

Welcome to Textkit and good luck with your test!
