Raya’s rules have served us well. I am canceling this post to introduce site wide forum policies. Jeff
Essentially, this is the social forum: the place to introduce yourself to the community, and hold casual conversation (which doesn’t necessarily have to be related to the Classics). To make the experience as pleasant as possible for all members, we ask that you keep to the following guidelines:
Introduce yourself in a new thread, not in already-existing threads - and especially don’t introduce yourself in other people’s introduction threads!
(By the way, it’s never too late to introduce yourself…)
Keep to the spirit of the thread - while it is the nature of conversation to go off on tangents, it can also be pretty annoying to find that your thread has turned into a conversation, held by people you don’t know, to which you can no longer contribute. So, as a general rule:
For introduction threads: keep the person who started the thread involved.
For other threads: stick to the topic - if you are inspired by what you read to talk about a new topic, start a new thread!
(Note that threads may be split if the conversation goes too much off topic, or if deemed more appropriate to other boards, threads may be moved accordingly.)
No flaming, or other offensive behaviour, will be tolerated. Posts may be edited or deleted by the moderator for offensive content.
Feel free to contact the moderators, preferably by PM (Private Message), if you have any trouble.
Above all - enjoy yourselves!
