Ranks

I’m sure a moderator would be able to answer this easier. I’m just curious to what all the ranks are here. You can be a Neophyte, a Member, a Fan, and a bunch of other stuff that I forget at the moment. Just curious as to what they are.

I had look Neophyte up in a dictionary when I first saw it…

How about classical ranks? “Imperator”, “Strategos”, “Archon”, “Poihths”?

Or maybe that’s getting a bit childish.

Or satrapehs, or Artaxerxes, or even Darius II ! Hold on to your hippous!

I wouldn’t mind being “proconsul.”

I wouldn’t mind being Caesar

Hmmm…that’s appealing, but when you’re Caesar the denarius stops with you!

haha

I welcome suggestions on better ranks - our ranks are rather lame - except for neophyte which I like. BUT they all need to be easily understood by beginners and that’s where the problem comes in.

Just color me “clueless”

Glad to see the site back up - I was having withdrawal pains.

We have a bishop. So what’s wrong about our having pawns, knights, a king and queens?

At least that’s the one that I would like to avoid

although it excludes the greek, I’m sure there are some equivalents:

(in no order)

plebian
plublius
equus
senatus
proconsul
consul
aedile - sp?
quaestor
lector - ?
novo homo
vestra

OTOH, maybe too boring.
