Question re translation of Mark 16:15

Greetings all.

I am writing a book that in one place touches on this verse, and thought it a good place to pose my question here.

Is it grammatically possible to translate the verse as follows: “And He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel of the whole creation.”

Official translations say “to” rather than “of.” Is “to” a grammatically correct alternative?

The original Greek is “και ειπεν αυτοις πορευθεντες εις τον κοσμον απαντα κηρυξατε το ευαγγελιον παση τη κτισει.”

A definitive answer from someone proficient in Ancient Greek would be very helpful, for which I would be most grateful.

Sincerely,

Terry

No, it is not possible. You would need πάσης τῆς κτίσεως for that.

Thank you! Very much appreciated.
