Polytonic Greek on an iMac

Hi

Is there a way to combine macrons with other diacritic marks in greekkeys? I have found metrical longum option shift 7 but it doesn’t combine with say an acute accent.

I am trying to type vowels marked long in Reading Greek for some pupils. It’s not the end of the world if I cant do it they have the textbook.

Any suggestion would be gratefully received.

Hi seneca,

Diacritics in Greekkeys are cumulative, so you should be able to press option-shift-= to produce the longum (or option-= for breve), then option-1 to produce the acute, then the vowel.

Note that not all fonts support these combinations, although I believe the fonts packaged with Greekkeys do. I personally use BosporosU often, and can vouch that it does have coverage for combined diacritics.

Hi Truks

Many thanks for your reply.

With BosporosU in pages I can now get this to work but not with any other font. I think I only need to show long α ι υ.

Once again thanks very much for your prompt help.
