please help translate

please help me translate this:
“propter vitia tua multi te culpant et nihil te in patria tua delectare nunc potest”

i got “because of your many crimes they blame you and now it is able to delight your fatherland.”

thats just one of the possibilities i came up with that are obviously wrong. please help.

multi does not agree with vitia tua so “many” does not go with “your crimes”. multi is masculine nominative plural, and since nominatives are subjects, multi is the subject. Rather than “they blame you”, which is a suitable way to translate culpant if there is no subject, the sentence reads “…many (men) blame you…”

nihil does not mean “now”, but “nothing”. It is also the subject of the verb potest, rather than “it”.

You have translated patria tua as though it were the direct object when te is the direct object. You have also not translated this second te or the word in at all.

Hopefully you can make sense of it after these corrections, but if not I will be glad to help further.

As David Langslow says, ‘start with the endings’
