Before moving on to Cap XI can someone please confirm I’ve got this right. Thanks
Canis ostium claudit - The dog closes the door
Canis ostium claudere potest. - The dog can/is able to close the door
Ostium a cane clauditur - The door is closed by the dog.
Ostium a cane claudi non potest - The door cannot be closed by the dog.
If you go into language settings Settings>Language, you can install the Maori (MR) keyboard. You’ll find that pressing the hyphen key plus a vowel will yield a macronised vowel.
P.S. The sentences look fine.
The only keyboard I can download is Te reo Maori which will not yield a macronised vowel when pressing hyphen key plus a vowel, although the a in the above Maori does appear macronised on screen. Anyway, not to worry, but thanks for trying to help!
Pianophile,
Sorry about that. I should have been a little more explicit. You need to select your language pack (it can be English), then when the options button appears, you’ll see “add keyboard”. Scroll down and you’ll see the Maori keyboard. In any event, here’s a step by step to install the keyboard: https://wintec.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001190235-How-to-add-Māori-Macrons-on-Windows-10
You can do this with just about any language pack installed. After it’s installed, use control+shift to toggle keyboards.
