Hi; new member here!
After wanting to take Latin in high school but not going to a school that offered it and then not going to a university that offered it I’ve finally decided to take matters into my own hands. I started using Lingua Latina a few months ago and while I loved it I found I missed the grammar focus of a ‘normal’ course ![]()
So I started Wheelock’s last week. I’m planning on two chapters a week, at least for the early ones, using the physical textbook and workbook and an online copy of 38 Stories. I still have the Lingua Latina books waiting for me and I plan to start reading a chapter of Familia Roman and Colloquia Personarum for each Wheelock’s chapter once I get to chapter 5. That way I’ll finish Wheelock’s and FR together and I’ll get the fun reading work along with the grammar focused work.
I don’t really know why I want to learn Latin, to be honest. I love languages and I enjoy studying them and while there are others I’d also like to study, Latin is what’s floating my boat right now.
