Greetings. I earned a Minor in Koine Greek from Evangel College [now University] in the latter 70s, but did not do anything with it. However, I never let it get too far away from me. Every now and then I would get my GNT out and read it and I twice went back through my Greek I grammar and Metzger’s GNT word lists. I retired at the end of last Feb. and decided to plunge back in to the discipline. I once more went through my Greek I grammar and Metzger’s “Lexical Aids” and have almost finished the GNT for the first time . I reconnected with my Greek I professor [we are continuing our correspondence] and he sent me some of the books he no longer needs [he is 86]. Among them was “Homeric Greek” by Dr. Clyde Pharr [my instructor was acquainted with him in Texas in the 50s]. I was encouraged to tackle Homer before Attic and have made a good start.
Thanks,
Ron Hoover
