New mailinglist?

I have Pharr’s book, the wish to read Homer, but I can’t seem to get started all on my own. Well, I got started, but couldn’t keep it up.

Is there anyone who would like to start a new mailinglist with me, be it one without expert guidance, but just to support one another and keep going? We could always post the questions here, that we can’t figure out ourselves.

Let me know!

Regards,
Adelheid

Hi Adelheid,

Skylax and I are willing to act as guides for a new Pharr group.

We are currently serving in this capacity for the initial Pharr group.

I’ve asked William Annis to look into establishing the requisite textkit study group infrastructure.

Of course, we need some folks to sign up. I do recall a flurry of interest expressed in another forum about 6-8 weeks ago:

Cordially,

Paul

I checked the thread, there seem to be more people interested. I definitely sign up, no question.

Do I keep an eye out to see whether something is organized or is there something more I can do? I sure wouldn’t want to miss the start of a new group, like last time!

Hi,

I don’t think there’s anything else to do for now. We just need William to set up the new group.

I’m not sure, but I think he may be in parts south pursuing bonsai.

Cordially,

Paul

Count me in. Just what I need to get some Greek going: others doing it at the same time.

Ingrid

Hi all. I am one of the members of the group that is in progress now and I am really enjoying it.
I don’t understand though, why it has to be a mailing group.
Could it not be board on this site that only members can post to but every one can read?
Then it has the potential of others learning from it as well.

Good luck with the new group. (It won’t be luck what you need though, you need the ambition to carry on with it and you need good guides. You have the good guides so the rest is up to you  )

Well, they don’t run too fast.

But I have returned and will get on the formation of pharr-b.

The mailing lists can be made public, too, if we start them out that way. I don’t think we can retrofit pharr-a, and even if we could, there is that annoy three month rift in the space-time continuum.

Hi All,

Slowly but surely pharr-b is becoming a reality. Please note that Will has included it in the textkit Study Groups page.

We don’t yet have an official start date and you can’t actually join the group just yet, but things are coming together nicely.

Stay tuned…

Cordially,

Paul

I´m starting Pharr today, but if the group is starting November, I´d love to join and participate; though I don´t know how. Is there a place I can sign in, or is this reply enough? Should I check daily to see if it opened for registration?

Will,

Any comment on Bernardo’s query?

Cordially,

Paul

Indeed, I have the same question.

Adelheid

We have not yet settled on a starting date for Pharr session B, but we’ve opened up the list.

http://www.textkit.com/groups/pharr/session-b.php

The link above has a quick description of the list, and on the top of the page is a link to the page that’ll let you subscribe to the list.

If you haven’t already, start learning the alphabet!

I registered for the mailinglist. Received a response from the address Pharr-b-bounces.
It is that I read IN the email that my request had been forwarded to the list moderator for approval, otherwise I would have thought my email hadn’t been accepted.

Bouncing mostly stands for failure. I take it it means something else here?

Regards,
Adelheid

I hope so, i got a similar mail…

Ingrid

As a spam control measure, we get a verification from you that you want to join first, then I have to approve it. This is to prevent automatic spam attacks.

You both should get confirmation of your subscription shortly.

Hi,

If you have signed up for the pharr-b study group, please make sure that you are registered.

If you are registered, you should have received my initial post to the list. It explains some important rudiments of the study group.

Cordially,

Paul

I’m interested in participating in a new Pharr mailing list too, if the existing one starting November 8 is full.
