Salvete omnes discipuli discipulaeque:
I was watching a part of The Passion of the Christ. In one scene, duo Romani milites were whipping the hell out of Jesus, and an onlooker counted out the lashes. I tuned my ears into his counting and noticed at number 28 he did not say ‘duodetriginta’ but ‘viginti octo,’ which I thought was wrong. Did the Romans count like that or was it just sloppy Latin?
Gratias ago,
