PeterD I think we didn’t have γιαο??τι back then. One of my favourite dictionaries says the following : Η γιαο??τη, το γιαο??τι (both modern, the latter in demotike), διαγο??τι (το I suppose), medieval.

I don’t think they would name us either yogurtistan or loukoumadistan by the way. None of these words is Greek and if I am not mistaken (which is quite likely) the fist is Persian and the other Turkish (remember Narnia and the “Turkish delights”? We call them λουκο?μια and have lots of them around too.)
Anyway, I’m afraid I am not one of those who enjoy γιαο??τι all that much. The only thing about yogurt that I really like is considered yucky by most so I will just use tiny letters
