I am trying to translate “energetic star.” The first obvious choice, stella energetica, seems to me to be a “false friend” because the energeticus (from del Col’s neo-latin dictionary) refers to “energy (adj.)” (refering to energy as a property) not to “energetic” (refering to amount of energy).
Therefore I am thinking about translating “energetic” as either one of two genitives: magnae energiae or multae energiae. Now, I am wondering which of these two is (more) correct. The expression magnae energiae might be considered correct if I think of this term as meaning “of high energy.” In contrast, multae energiae emphasizes the bulk/quantity of energy.
On a more general note. What is the difference in use of magnus and multus? There are expressions like magna pecunia which (to me at least) are far from obvious. Is there any general rule?
