Locative with maneo; and a negative

Can I have some help for an English → Latin sentence from John Taylor’s Latin beyond GCSE (Causal clauses, exercise 2.30.4)?

The sentence is: “We shall stay at home because we have no money.”

My Latin: domi manebimus quod nullam pecuniam habemus.

I have the answer key to the exercises, which gives quod pecuniam non habemus, domum manebimus.

I was surprised at domum. Is the locative domi not the appropriate form with manebimus?

Secondly, is pecuniam non habemus better than nullam pecuniam habemus?

Caesar uses domi with remaneo so you are in good company. I don’t see a problem with your usage .

Nor do I see a problem with “nullam pecuniam habemus” which is used frequently in Lingua Latina per se …Perhaps there might be a slight emphasis using “Nullam” rather than non habemus.
