The company I work for announced layoffs in our dept last week, and we lost three people who were longtime employees with lots of experience and knowledge. I thought this quote was appropriate:

(Our dept’s new theme song is Limp Bizkit’s ‘Break Stuff’ 
… I guess I should mention that we went through round 1 of layoffs 3 years ago when we lost 4 people … so you can tell that morale/motivation is real high these days…)
