Latin Etymology

Hello,

I’m looking for some standard published works on Latin etymology. Are there any which you would recommend? The only one I’ve been able to find online is An Etymological Dictionary of the Latin Language by Francis Valpy, but I haven’t heard any reviews of it. Thank you.

Check out De Vaan’s Etymological Dictionary of Latin and the other Italic Languages.

There’s also Meillet’s Dictionnaire étymologique de la langue latine, which is older.
