Hello; I’ve been practicing latin comp. I have a question: I can’t seem to grasp the difference between tam and adeo. Any help?

Effectively, there shouldn’t be a difference, if you’re saying something like “adeo ut …” etc. I see “adeo” more frequently; “tam” of course is the partner to “quam,” whereas “adeo” doesn’t possess the same relative. Maybe if you showed us some examples of your composition we might be able to offer more precise suggestions, siuis.

Well, I’m specifically working with North & Hillard. I just went through and found all the sentences where I wrote tam where N&H wants adeo in the answer key:
We were so tired that we remained in the plain. (7.1)
We were so greatly terrified that we all fled (8.6)
The sailors were so terrified that they left the ship (9.4)
He was so hurt that he died. (10.10)
However, tam or tanta is required for sentences like:
“The tree was so high that it fell,” or, " Such was his courage that all men praised him."
