I have a BA in Classical Languages, and I did a year of grad school before I got sick and had to leave. That as in 1985! (At that time I lived in Ohio,so my undergrad degree was granted from Wright State in Dayton (where my husband went to med school) and the year of grad work was at Ohio State.). Unfortunately, my illness turned out to be chronic - chronic pancreatitis due to a pancreas divisum. That is simply a condition that many people have to one degree or another, as embryonically the pancreas starts in two pieces that fuse together. Well,mine didn’t do that right to a large degree, and so I have been unable to return to school or go to work because of frequent hospitalizations,surgeries,and complications. I did manage to have one child,but he is now 19, and off on his own, and I am bored. So,I thought I would try to relearn my Greek and Latin. I live in SW FL -very southwest!- and there aren’t any universities here that offer this. I have tried on-line Latin with SeniorLearn- the classes were well taught and interesting,but I kept missing due to illness. If anyone is over 50, I encourage you to check their classes out. They have students world wide, and it is very low cost.
Mostly I hang with my dog and our 3 cats,and make jewelry. I have been considering an Etsy store,but I don’t know that I could stay well long enough to keep it open.
