I’m not sure this question is on the right place here, but the all-knowing Benissimus advised me to post it here.
Anyway, I’m searching for a site on the net where you can send free smses (textmessages on your cellphone) to Italy (more precisely to send smses to someone whose providor is vodaphone), does anyone know where I can find such a site?

I don’t know much much about mobile phones and sms. Few sites allow to send free sms afaik.
Try this one: http://www.smspronti.com/
It is only in Italian, sorry. It should work for every provider including Vodafone (Omnitel) .
In case you do not speak Italian:
Prefisso = prefix/provider code for mobile the first 3 digits e.g. 349
Numero = number
Testo dell’SMS = SMS text
Mittente = Sender
Invia = send
I hope I will work: I haven’t tried yet.

Sorry I didn’t check. it. I know that, if you have a Italiam Sim (Vodafone or whatever) you can send sms from the provider’s site.
Otherwise try with http://servizi.enel.it/sms/customformlogin.asp?
Unfortunately you can only send 5 sms per month and 1 per day, after registration. This site should be more serious since Enel is the national electrical power company (well it’s been privatized now).

Maybe someone can create such a site?
